Who is Mollie Bracewell ?
A federal prosecutor was caught in a hail of bullets while out for a night at a restaurant in Brooklyn.
Mollie Bracewell, 34, who works in the Manhattan US Attorney’s office, was struck by a stray bullet Friday night while she was at Muse Thai restaurant.
The Harvard Law graduate felt pain in her left eye. Later, an X-ray taken at Kings County Hospital found that a bullet fragment had lodged under her eye.
As she was sending diners to seek shelter when at least four shots rang out, another bystander was also hit.
Benjamin Bustamante, a 31-year-old man, was just strolling through the trendy Washington Avenue restaurant when he was shot in the foot. He was taken to Methodist Hospital.
The shooting occurred after an argument between two rival gangs turned violent, according to the New York Post.
Arrested and Charged
A 17-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Police are now trying to establish whether he fired the shots.
Bracewell had worked cases in the narcotics and general crimes units of the US Attorney’s office. She had also prosecuted s*x trafficking.
