A man is behind bars after hitting his teenage cousin at least 50 times and drowning in an Upper West Side bathtub.
Mitcaux Brooker, 32, told investigators that he would show Jallen McConnie, 15, in court papers on the 28th.
Brooker told police he saw McConnie “buckle up” and collapse under running water in the bathtub. He returned two hours later and found the teenager unconscious in the bathtub, according to a criminal complaint filed in Manhattan.
When the FDNY arrived, the seriously injured 15-year-old was lying in his bed, dressed in dry clothing, according to the ad.
Mcconnie, who according to law enforcement authorities was visiting his family in New York City from Georgia, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital that night, documents show.
Brooker was charged July 1 with assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Manhattan prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said he was indicted by a grand jury on July 2 in an unsealed indictment and that he will be in jail for a Manhattan Supreme Court hearing next month.
