Who is Maurice Anthony Richardson ?
A 60-YEAR-OLD man is accused of choking his girlfriend to death and dumping her body on a dirt road, before moving a “look-alike” into his home.
The body of Tonia Tram Tran, 53, was found on August 10 by a passerby on the side of a road in Fort Smith, Arkansas, near State Highway 186 and just off Interstate 40.
Maurice Anthony Richardson, 60 was charged with first-degree murder.
Tran’s body was discovered on a dirt road near State Highway 186 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
After receiving the call around 6:30 a.m. m., Arkansas State Police discovered that Tran was wrapped in a blanket and duvet.
Medical examiners revealed that she had been suffocated to death, as well as being sexually assaulted and beaten, according to Yahoo! News.
Arrested and Charged
Maurice Anthony Richardson, 60, who lived with Tran, was charged with first-degree murder and booked into the Sebastian County Jail on bail set at $500,000.
However, the chilling revelation of the crime occurred as the Arkansas State Police continued their investigation into her death.
Tran allegedly moved to Fort Smith and lived in a duplex with Richardson near the 1400 block of N. 41st Street, but going to the duplex to investigate, police found another woman living there.
The woman claimed that she is Richardson’s ‘new girlfriend’ for law enforcement and she intends to marry him after only three days of meeting him.
Victim
Arkansas police noted that the woman “bears a remarkable resemblance to the victim,” making it even more bizarre, according to Crime Online.
Surprisingly, and according to an affidavit filed in the case, police found a wedding ring holder and the woman was, in fact, wearing a ring.
Along with the woman, the police would find runners and a new mattress that matched the hummingbird and flower blanket in which Tran’s body was wrapped.
According to police, Tran’s car was also still at the duplex, and they even discovered a blood pattern on his vehicle that indicated a body had been dragged.
Police would later search another area where Richardson worked and found a bloody mattress, Tran’s citizenship papers and even a bag containing his clothes.
Richardson has had prior incidents and convictions before being charged with first degree murder.
In 2008, his former wife, Marife Richardson, accused him of domestic assault but did not press charges, reports Crime Online.
