Leicestershire police were called to the scene shortly before 5:25 pm where they discovered the body of Mr Morris
Green made up a story where he went to the shops and came back to find his friend dead.
A press officer said today, after Green admitted guilt, that an autopsy revealed that the victim had died from multiple stab wounds and blunt injuries.
They added: “CCTV evidence, testimony and a forensic investigation at the scene quickly revealed Green’s web of lies and he was charged with murder.”
The jury that heard the murder trial was sworn in yesterday.
The prosecution was supposed to open its case against the defendant today.
The breakthrough came this morning when, after an hour of conversation with his attorney, Green decided to admit to the murder.
He should be sentenced on Thursday.
