Norcross police arrested Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna on DUI charges.
ATLANTA Braves slugger Marcell Ozuna has been arrested for DUI - a year after the MLB star was slapped with a 20-game suspension after being accused of domestic violence.
According to Gwinnett County Jail records, Ozuna was arrested around 4:30 a.m. Friday for driving under the influence of alcohol and not keeping charges in the lane.
News requested the incident report from Norcross Police and is awaiting a response. Channel 2 also contacted the Atlanta Braves for a statement.
Arrested and Charged
The DUI arrest is the latest legal issue for the Braves outfielder.
In May 2021, Ozuna was accused of assaulting and strangling his ex-wife inside his home in Sandy Springs. She told police that she and her husband were arguing about her infidelity before he strangled her and threw her against a wall, according to court documents.
He was originally arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault by strangulation, however prosecutors dropped the felony charge in July. Ozuna still faced misdemeanor charges of family violence assault and simple assault.
