Lucky Miller Biography
Lucky Miller was the Mannford Police Chief who was allegedly killed by former Oklahoma Police Officer Michael Patrick Nealey while attending a law enforcement conference in Pensacola, Florida, in 2019, CNN reports. Officer Nealey has been charged with the death.
Court records indicate Nealey’s sentencing is scheduled for April 29.

Chief Lucky Miller Death
In November 2019, Chief Miller was found dead at a Florida hotel in Pensacola Beach, where he and Officer Nealey had been attending a police conference. Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputies say they responded to a call about a fight at the hotel where Nealey and Miller were staying for the conference.
During Nealey’s trial, prosecutors said the medical examiner determined that Miller was beaten and strangled or suffocated to death, WEAR reported.

Arrest documents say officers found Miller lying on the floor of the hotel room, with no response and no pulse, and that Nealey was also lying on the ground nearby. Documents go on to reveal that Miller’s face was struck and his right eye was completely swollen.
However, there were no other apparent injuries to his body.
A day later, agents arrested Nealey on a second-degree murder complaint.

During Nealey’s trial, prosecutors argued that there were extreme levels of intoxication that night, and a forensic toxicologist testified that both men had blood alcohol concentration levels four times the legal limit for driving, the affiliate reported.
During the closing arguments of the trial, prosecutor Trey Myers pointed out the facts of the case and said: “There were only two people in that room. One of them is dead and one of them is on trial ”. According to CNN, Nealey did not take the stand in defense of him.
The trial began Monday with jury selection and lasted a day and a half before the jury returned a guilty verdict.
According to CNN, Miller had served as chief of police since 2007; he was a husband and father of three children.
