Who is Liam Marshall?
Liam Marshall, 30, from Staffordshire, West Midlands, launched the second of his two attacks as police investigated the first incident, a court heard.
He appeared at Truro Crown Court via video link, where he was jailed for a total of 30 months. He also received two restraining orders, restricting his contact with his two victims.
Jail
Liam Marshall, who pinned his girlfriend against the wall while threatening her with hot oil and knocked his ex-partner unconscious after slamming her to the ground, has been jailed.
The court was told that the first incident, involving Marshall and his girlfriend, occurred in December 2020 when the couple had been drinking.
Marshall confronted her partner and accused her of talking to another man after reading her messages, the Birmingham Mail reported.
The court heard that he threatened her with boiling oil, before grabbing her by the neck and pinning her against a wall.
He then he threw her to the ground. His victim sustained a cut after hitting his head.
Investigation
While police were investigating Marshall after the incident with his girlfriend, the 30-year-old was in the company of his ex-partner, who is also the mother of his son, at a friend’s house in February.
After storming off the property, Marshall threw her ex-partner to the ground and punched her as she lay in the street, knocking her unconscious.
The court heard that his victim suffered nerve damage in the incident.
Truro Crown Court heard that Marshall carried out the assault on his former partner while he was under police investigation for attacking his girlfriend.
Judge Simon Carr said: ‘You have been in court numerous times for violence against women.
‘The first aggression I accept a verbal argument escalated.
He wrapped his hands around her throat and hit her with considerable force, as well as threatening her with hot oil.
Marshall was jailed for 30 months and restraining orders were also placed to protect the victims.
