On Sunday, Hilaria addressed speculation about her ancestry on Instagram, posting a video in which she explains: “I spent part of my childhood in Boston, part of my childhood in Spain, my family, my brother, my parents, my nephew, everything. the world is there in Spain now, I am here ”. She added that she grew up speaking English and Spanish at home and her changing accent is due to the fact that “I am that person, if I have spoken a lot of Spanish, I tend to mix them or if I speak a lot of English
As for her name, “when I was a child, in this country I used the name Hillary, and in Spain I used Hilaria and my family, my parents, called me Hilaria,” she says. After meeting her husband, she decided to “consolidate” things under the name Hilaria. “Yes, I am a white girl, my family is white… Europe has a lot of white people in them. Ethnically I am a mixture of many, many things. “She added,” I care because my thing is to be authentic and then if people say I’m not authentic, it hurts my feelings … I really don’t understand why it’s becoming so great… they are attacking me for being who I am… people who want to label me Spanish or American, can’t it be both? It’s frustrating that’s my story. ”
Hilaria’s husband, actor Alec Baldwin, shared his own Instagram video in response to speculation about his wife’s inheritance, saying: “We live in a world now where we are hidden behind the anonymity of social media. people feel like they can say anything. They can say anything. They would probably like to do anything if they didn’t run the risk of being caught and going to prison. Because they can’t do that, because that implies a real commitment to do something, to express those feelings, they say things, very often there is no profile picture, sometimes yes, there are no identifying traits there, hidden behind the anonymity of social networks, they want to shoot it at you and spray it on you, their poison and their hatred .. And you have to consider the source. There are things that have been said lately about the people I love, that I care deeply, that are ridiculous. I mean, just ridiculous. “
