A 37-year-old man has been charged with intentionally contaminating or disturbing products in three London supermarkets.
Leoaai Elghareeb, of Crabtree Lane, Fulham, will appear before Westminster Magistrates Court today (Friday 27 August).
Officers in forensic suits were seen yesterday on Fulham Palace Road at three stores, a Tesco Express, Little Waitrose and Sainsbury’s Local, after Wednesday night’s events.
After the incident, Hammersmith and Fulham Council advised their customers to throw away everything they bought at all three stores on Wednesday night.
Packages of boiled chicken breast were among the items seized by police from supermarkets after reports that the suspect injected food with needles.
Processed meat and microwaves are believed to be among the other foods suspected of being contaminated.

Officers were alerted around 7.40 p.m. Wednesday after a man was reportedly yelling insults at people on the street.
Shani Samet said she was sitting in the back of the Avanti tapas restaurant, she is a co-owner on Fulham Palace Road, when she heard a loud bang and saw a man cursing a waiter before throwing a flowerpot at her.
Ms. Samet said
“He could have opened a person’s brain.”
Hammersmith and Fulham Council issued an “emergency warning” notice on their social media accounts Wednesday night.
“Citizens are advised, as a precautionary measure, to dispose of the food bought in these supermarkets tonight.
“The H&F Council’s Environmental Health team is now working with the offices of the affected supermarkets.”
