Emergency services rushed to the scene, but construction worker Lee tragically died from his injuries.
His family has now paid tribute to the “extremely kind and generous” father who had just welcomed baby girl Raya-Mae.
Lee, from Rhos, near Wrexham, leaves behind the newborn and three other beloved children.
They said: “Lee was the son of Paul and Karen. He had a brother and two sisters and they are all from the Wrexham area.
Lee was also a loving father to Ellie, Benny, Beau, and Raya-Mae, whom he sadly leaves behind.
“Lee and his partner Gemma recently celebrated the birth of his first child, daughter Raya-Mae, who is only nine weeks old.
“Gemma and Lee loved their time together and created precious memories together as a family.”
His family says that Lee was extremely kind, generous and “always full of energy.”
They said, “He devoted a lot of his time to his family and friends and was always helping others before himself. He really had a good heart.”
“Lee was employed as a construction laborer and traveled all over the country working on several different projects.
“He often spent the week away working, but he always came back to his family on the weekends.”
His loved ones said Lee will be missed by all “who were lucky enough to have him in their lives.”
“As a family, we would like to thank all of the emergency services for their efforts and service over the last few days.”
North Wales Police are asking the driver of a passing blue car to come forward.
Sergeant Meurig Jones said: “Just prior to the collision we believe a blue colored car, possibly a BMW or similar, traveling from Whitchurch towards Bangor-on-Dee, had to take evasive action after being confronted by the van.
“I am calling on the driver of that vehicle to contact us to assist with our ongoing investigation.
“Similarly, I’m also calling on anyone who was traveling on the A525 at the time of the collision to get in touch with us.”Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends, who are now supported by a specially trained Family Liaison Officer.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
