Who was Lauren Malt ?
A FATHER has been charged with murder after his daughter was hit by a car and killed in an accident.
Lauren Malt, 19, was rushed to hospital after a dead-end accident in West Winch, Norfolk, on Sunday night, but she tragically died a short time later.
Arrested
Police were called to the scene on Leete Way shortly before 7:30 p.m. m. to report a disturbance and that a woman had been hit by a car.
The driver, Nigel Malt, 44, was arrested and has now been charged with murder.
He has been taken into police custody to appear before Norwich Magistrate’s Court tomorrow morning.
A Home Office post-mortem examination conducted today has established that Lauren’s preliminary cause of death is injuries to the chest and abdomen.
Police say initial investigations on the night of the incident led to officers arresting Nigel Malt at hospital.
He was taken to the King’s Lynn Police Investigation Center where detectives questioned him before charges were filed.
A neighbor said: “It’s horrible. I saw the flashing lights of the police cars late in the afternoon.”
Death
In the hours after her death, friends described Lauren as “a wonderful and loving young woman.”
Kaiya-j Eglen, who described Lauren as her best friend, wrote: “You my dear angel meant the world to me and I am so sorry you are gone.
“I can’t quite get it. My rock. My bean. My best friend.
“We had so many plans, but now we’re apart. I miss you every moment of my life, my love.”
Caitlan McGregor commented, “I will miss her every day. She had a heart of gold.”
And Dylan Cooper added: “She was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many.
“Such a wonderful and caring young man who was taken from us too soon.”
Sheila Raddon, who is believed to be Lauren’s grandmother, also paid tribute to the “beautiful” teen.
