A woman was arrested in connection with the murder of the son of a former Florida state senator in Miami-Dade, police said Tuesday.
Lakoria Washington, 24, is being wanted for the June 1 murder of Jason Campbell, Daphne Campbell’s son, according to a Miami-Dade police “search” flyer obtained by NBC 6.
Lakoria Shamece Washington, 24, faces first degree felony murder charges in the fatal shooting of Jason Campbell, Daphne Campbell’s son.
US Marshals detained Washington Monday in Port Orange and are awaiting extradition to Miami-Dade County.
Campbell, 23, was shot and killed on June 1 in an apartment at Monte Carlo Condominiums on Northwest 165th Street.

Campbell’s family said Jason, a father of three, was shot and killed while he slept in the apartment of the woman he was seeing.
Miami-Dade police distributed flyers last week identifying Washington as the suspect.
