Kevin Gavin Wiki
Kevin Gavin Biography
Kevin Gavin is an American man from Brooklyn known for running errands for the elderly in a Brooklyn housing project. Kevin committed “unspeakable acts of violence” against women who trusted him enough to let him into their homes, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez told reporters.
He had a dark secret for years, as police said Thursday: if they didn’t pay him, he would kill them.
Kevin Gavin Age
Kevin Gavin is 66 years old.
Kevin was the brother of Leon Gavin, who lived in the building and was known for helping elderly residents with his errands.
Leon Gavin died in April 2020 and Kevin Gavin moved into the apartment. At the time, he had been identified as a suspect in a 2019 death and, by extension, the 2015 unsolved death.
The most recent victim, Juanita Caballero, 78, was found in her sixth-floor apartment with a cord around her neck Monday, police said.
In May 2019, she allegedly fatally beat 83-year-old Jacolia “Jackie” James, whose beaten body was discovered by a family member.
He killed another elderly woman, Myrtle McKenny, at the housing project in 2015, authorities said. She was fatally stabbed in the neck of her.
Some elected officials and victims of the family accuse the NYPD of negligence and racism, claiming that the investigation was not taken as seriously as it should have been after the first murder.
Kevin was arrested in the serial killings of three women at his Brownsville building, the most recent on Monday, authorities announced at a news conference.
“We continue to pursue all leads on any other incident that Mr. Gavin may be involved in,” New York Police Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison told reporters when announcing Gavin’s arrest.
Accused of murder
Gavin allegedly strangled, stabbed and bludgeoned his victims at 393 Powell St., a short drive from his home in Carter G. Woodson Houses, authorities said.
The suspect is a handyman who confessed to the gruesome killings and told police the victims owed him money, a police source said.
â € œHe had a relationship with the victims. What we believe at this point is that it seems that the reason he may have committed these acts is because of an argument about money or finances. ”
