Who is Kendra Mcquilling?
Kendra Mcquilling, 25, had to undergo surgery to fix the bones around her mouth after Jay Curry, 33, attacked her.
Curry committed the assault after visiting his mother’s home with Mrs. Mcquilling on July 10, 2021.
He later followed Stockton’s mother into her bathroom and unleashed the attack with a single blow, breaking her jaw.
Her previously damaged jaw left her in severe pain and she was forced to undergo further surgery in Middlesbrough.
On Monday afternoon, Curry of Whitley Road, Thornaby, Stockton was jailed for 27 months.

The mother of a nine-year-old girl began a seven-month relationship with Curry in January of last year.
She said: ‘I was so naive, I thought she was a good person, but she really wasn’t.
‘I feel stupid for not knowing Jay was like this.
“He should have a warning sticker on his head, warning people to stay away from him.”
She found the strength to report Curry to the police thanks to her daughter and was arrested two days later.
Attack
Jay Curry, of Thornaby, Stockton, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm (GBH) during an earlier hearing. The mother of a nine-year-old girl began a seven-month relationship with Curry, from Thornaby, in January last year.
She said: ‘I did it for my girl. I have to teach him that it’s not normal.
‘I have changed my life now. I am a totally different person than I was when I was with him.
I have very good people around me.
The court heard as Curry, who appeared in court via video link to Durham prison, denied the assault in an interview with police and claimed the complainant had been drunk and flirting with others.
He pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm (GBH) during an earlier hearing.
Defender John Nixon told Teeside Crown Court the attack did not result in “serious irreversible injury” or anything of the sort.
Prosecutor Rachel Masters told the court: ‘The defendant struck the complainant on the left side of the face.
‘She felt severe pain. She felt a paralyzing, popping sound.
“When she got to the street, she felt like she couldn’t breathe, like she was having a panic attack.”
The judge sentenced Curry, who has previous convictions for battery and assault, to 27 months behind bars and an indefinite restraining order that prevents him from contacting Ms. Mcquilling.
Mrs Mcquilling said: ‘He had no remorse for what he did.
“In my head, I feel like no sentence will ever be long enough.”
She urges victims of domestic violence to report their abusers to the police and make use of Clare’s Law, which gives any member of the public the right to ask the police if their partner may pose a risk to them.
