The wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford launched a massive tirade about Michigan’s lockdown over the pandemic, likening state governance to that of a ‘dictatorship’ before finally apologizing for the comments.

“So I’m going to be very frank, I’m so fed up,” Stafford said on her Instagram story. “I am living in a dictatorship that we call Michigan.”

She continued: ‘I understand that there is a pandemic and I understand that it is very scary, I am afraid too. If you are at risk, do not leave your home until you have a vaccination.

‘It’s not that I don’t care about the people who have COVID or the hospital, yes, but this is my opinion,’ he said. ‘I don’t like living in a place where they tell me what I can and cannot do.’

But many didn’t like the apology, pointing out that Stafford was shopping at Target when he made the video.
