Kassandra Cantrell, 33, disappeared a few days before her first ultrasound. On the morning of August 25, she left her family’s home in Parkland, Tacoma, USA.
Colin Patrick Dudley Age
On the same day, her ex-boyfriend Colin Patrick Dudley, 37, was detained without incident at his Tacoma home.
He is now being held at the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of murder.
Investigators said they were happy to solve the case, but Cantrell’s family members saddened them.
“That was a lot of work … And we’re happy there is a solution for the family,” said Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer.
“But we are also sad for the family.”

Cantrell’s mother, Marie Smith, said Cantrell had a doctor’s appointment for his first ultrasound and that he also plans to go shopping.
However, she had no money with her and her bank card was not used.
The sheriff’s office said earlier this month that investigators had identified a person of interest, but had not named him.
Investigators entered and left the home of Cantrell’s ex-boyfriend on Sept. 1 while searching for clues at the residence.

Troyer said Tuesday that investigators uncovered surveillance tape of the suspect leaving his white Mazda car found across town near the Tacoma Dome.
“We are treating this as a homicide investigation until something tells us otherwise,” Troyer said earlier this month.
Troyer said the person of interest was “someone they want to remove and clarify or name a suspect,” but did not respond to the information.

“This is not a place I would never be. It’s just not like that, they don’t have to be there. It’s not a safe area, it wouldn’t be there, “Smith said.
Cantrell’s mother said she did not believe her daughter had decided to break up and leave.
“She would have taken her dogs,” Smith said.
“If she hadn’t had anything else, she would have taken her damn dogs because they are her babies.”
