Who is Kasie Hunt?

Kasie Sue Hunt is an American political correspondent. She was a correspondent for NBC News on Capitol Hill, covering Congress on all NBC News and MSNBC platforms, and was the host of MSNBC’s Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt from September 21, 2020 to July 16, 2021.

Hunt was born in Michigan and grew up in Wayne, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Bruce and Krista Hunt and the sister of younger sister Carly Hunt. Her father manages real estate design and construction for Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, and her mother is a yoga teacher at Easton. Her sister is a former golfer for the Georgetown Hoyas and Maryland Terrapins women’s golf teams.

Hunt graduated from Conestoga High School in 2003. She attended George Washington University and graduated magna cum laude with a BA in International Affairs in 2006. She earned her MA in Sociology from St John’s College, Cambridge.

Hunt began her career in journalism as an intern in the political unit of NBC News. She was a health policy reporter for the National Journal’s CongressDaily, writing about the passage of the Affordable Care Act. She wrote for Politico, covering the 2010 midterm elections. She began working as a national political reporter for the Associated Press in August 2011 and covered Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.

In January 2013, Hunt joined NBC News as an off-air reporter and producer covering Congress and politics. She began appearing regularly on MSNBC as a political reporter and in November 2014 she became a political correspondent. She writes for msnbc.com and has appeared regularly on MSNBC and Bloomberg shows, including Morning Joe, Hardball with Chris Matthews, and With All Due Respect.

In October 2017, Hunt began hosting her own MSNBC talk show, Kasie DC, which aired in two separate segments on Sundays at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET The final episode of Kasie DC aired on Sunday, September 13, 2020.

On Monday, September 21, 2020, Kasie Hunt began hosting a reboot of the MSNBC Way Too Early talk show under the new name Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt. That show aired Monday through Friday morning from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. ET. On Friday, July 16, 2021, Hunt announced that it was the last day of her performance of “Way Too Early” and she also said goodbye to her co-hosts on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. She did not provide details about her future plans. On July 16, 2021, Andrea Mitchell, host of Andrea Mitchell Reports on MSNBC, announced that July 16, 2021 is Hunt’s last business day for MSNBC.

Kasie Hunt Announces “Bittersweet” News About Her Departure From NBC News, MSNBC

Kasie Hunt announced the “bittersweet” news that she would be leaving NBC News and MSNBC during a broadcast on Friday.

The “Way Too Early” host and NBC Capitol Hill correspondent told viewers that she has enjoyed providing news and also connecting with those who have shared photos of babies and pets over the past year.

“I’ll have more information on my adventure in the next few weeks, but for now I just want to thank everyone at NBC News, on MNSBC,” Hunt said.

Hunt also posted the news on her Twitter page, saying, “Some personal news, as they say, thanks to all the viewers, journalists, legislators and everyone else who stood up earlier to help improve @WayTooEarly. I loved. do this show. More soon! #WayTooEarly. ”

A representative from NBC Universal confirmed to USA TODAY that she was leaving the network.

Hunt first joined NBC News as an off-air reporter and producer covering Congress and politics in 2013. In 2017, she began hosting her own MSNBC segment, “Kasie DC,” which aired on Sundays.

In September, she announced that she would begin organizing the reboot of “Way Too Early”, under her new name “Way Too Early with Kasie Hunt”.
