A woman has been charged with the murder of two young children who were found dead on a property in Dagenham, the Metropolitan Police said.

Kara Alexander, 44, will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates Court later today.

Emergency services were called around 2 p.m. m. Friday to the property on Cornwallis Road in Dagenham, east London, where the bodies of a two-year-old and a five-year-old boy were discovered.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene.

Police said his family has been informed and continues to be supported by specialist officers.

Autopsies and formal identifications will be arranged in due course.
