“But he couldn’t do anything. He couldn’t open his eyes or move.
“The MRI showed that he was nearly brain dead.
“He had no chance.
Family
The tragedy occurred on January 28, when little Kane was playing with his non-verbal, autistic brother Callum.
The two children were left alone for a few seconds while his mother went to the bathroom.
Natasha added: “Life is not the same. It is empty. He would have turned two in March.
“I had to be strong for my other little son. I can’t ask him how he feels, he just keeps looking at pictures of Kane and doesn’t usually look at anything.
“I went into the bathroom and I said to Kane’s dad when I came out, ‘Where’s Kane?’
“He said he was messing with Callum and I went looking but couldn’t find him.
“He was cheeky and you could always hear him; he was very loud.
“I saw the reflection of him in the front bedroom window. I thought he was playing hide and seek, but I moved the curtain and he was gone.

And now the mother of two wants to warn other parents to be aware of her son’s surroundings.
She said: “I just want to make sure the blinds are secure and there is a fixture on the wall with the blinds.
“I didn’t think it was dangerous. I’m only 23 years old and I didn’t think like that.”
Kane’s funeral is scheduled for February 18.
