Shortly after jumping from the balcony onto the Senate floor, Colt was photographed standing on the dais inside the Senate chamber where witnesses say he yelled, ‘Trump won that election!’

‘He caught Me in the moment and when I saw the door to the Chamber open, I went in, jumped up and sat on the chair. I said my peace and then helped a gentleman to safety who got hurt and then left.

“While I was in the Chamber, I told the other protesters that this is a holy place and that they should not do any harm. Some wanted to destroy the place and steal things, but I told them not to do it and to leave everything in its place. We are still on sacred ground.

And I sincerely apologize to the American people. I acknowledge my actions that have embarrassed myself, my family, my friends, and my beautiful country. At the time I thought I was doing the right thing.
