Johnny Depp lost his sensational libel case on Monday against a British newspaper that accused him of beating his ex-wife Amber Heard.
After an explosive trial that included charges of everything from adultery to defecation in the couple’s marital bed, London High Court Judge Andrew Nicol delivered his decision after three months of deliberation.

Early life and ancestry
Depp was born on June 9, 1963,  in Owensboro, Kentucky,   the youngest of four children of waitress Betty Sue Palmer (née Wells)  and civil engineer John Christopher Depp.   Depp moved frequently during his childhood. He and his siblings lived in more than 20 different places, finally settling in Miramar, Florida in 1970.  Depp’s parents divorced in 1978 when he was 15 years old.   His mother married Robert Palmer, whom Depp has called “an inspiration.” At the 2016 Grammys, Depp performed a song in honor of Palmer, saying, “So the lyrics to the song were this toast from my stepdad, who left about 15 years ago. He was a really cool guy. He was a bit. about half his life in prison, in Statesville, Illinois. And he toasted, “This is for you, as good as you are. Here’s to me, just as bad as me. You’re still as good as you, as bad as I am. ‘”  With the gift of a guitar from his mother when he was 12, Depp began playing in various bands.  One year after the divorce of his parents, dropped out of Miramar High School to become a rock musician; he tried to go back to school two weeks later, but was told by the principal to follow his dream of being a musician.  He played with The Kids, a band he enjoyed from a modest local success, from 1980 to 1984. The Kids left together for Los Angeles in search of a record deal, changing their name to Six Gun Method, but the group broke up before signing a recording contract. Depp collaborated with the band Rock City Angels  and co-wrote their song “Mary,” which appeared on his debut Geffen Records album Young Man’s Blues.  On December 20, 1983, Depp married Lori. Anne Allison,  the sister of their band’s bassist and singer. To show her gratitude for her recovery, Depp visited the hospital in November 2007, dressed in her Captain Jack Sparrow costume, and spent four hours reading stories to the children. Then, just when it appeared the former couple had reached a new low, Depp testified that he left Heard after she or a friend defecated on his bed out of revenge, and snapshots of the offending feces were presented as evidence.
But even with Monday’s ruling, the former Hollywood couple’s battle is far from over.
Depp is still suing Heard for $ 50 million in Virginia over a Washington Post op-ed she wrote about her experience as a victim of domestic violence. While Depp was not named in the article, he insists that it was strongly inferred that he was the perpetrator.
She has filed a counterclaim for $ 100 million.
