John Cannan, 66, currently lives three times in Full Sutton Prison.
The killer was never charged with the murder of Ms. Lamplugh
Now Jim Dickie says he found out that Cannan was thrown in the trunk.
The truck driver reportedly witnessed the incident while on his way to work at 5 p.m.
The suspected killer of estate agent Suzy Lamplugh dumped a large suitcase in a canal in west London three days after she disappeared, a retired detective said.
Ms Lamplugh, 25, disappeared 34 years ago after being told she would meet a client calling himself “Skipper” in Fulham, southwest London.
Killer John Cannan, 66, is currently serving three years in Full Sutton Prison in York for murder, kidnapping and rape in 1988.
He was never charged with the murder of Ms. Lamplugh, but was told that he told his ex-girlfriend that he strangled her and specifically buried her body.
Former Investigations Superintendent Jim Dickie, who received a new case investigation, told him that he told me last year that Cannan was seen dumping a large box on the Grand Union Canal in Brentford.
The truck driver reportedly saw the incident while on his way to work at 5 a.m., three days after Lamplugh’s disappearance.
Cannan saw a suitcase in a car and fled after hearing the splash.
Dickie told The Sun: “I think watching the channel is the best information about Suzy’s possible fate since she disappeared more than 34 years ago.”
Cannan was sentenced to at least 35 years in prison in April 1989 for the rape and murder of Shirley Banks, 29, in Bristol.
The former detective highlighted the similarities between the two cases, noting that Miss Banks’ body was found in the field near the main road, while the Grand Union Canal is close to the A4 and M4 models.
He added: “We believe that after leaving the shelter, Cannan had a room somewhere where he took Suzy and killed her before hiding the body.
“There were actions in this area where he could easily have picked up the car.
Miss Lamplugh’s car was found that night when she disappeared. It was parked on Fulham Street, a mile from the house, with the parking brake released, but the bag still in the door pocket.
Six years later, city police announced that their main suspect in the case was a line of convicted Cannan rapists and killers, but the prosecutor said there was insufficient evidence to be prosecuted.
Lamplugh was declared officially dead in 1994, allegedly murdered, and his parents, Paul and Diana, died without knowing what had happened to their daughter.
The disappearance of a real estate agent is one of the most confusing cases of the 20th century.
Witnesses said they saw a woman as described around 1 p.m. on July 28, 1986, speaking to a man outside the Shorrolds Road property.
In August 2010, the police began searching the field along the B4084 between Pershore and Drakes Broughton, about three miles from Worcestershire’s former Norton Barracks, where the search had already been conducted in December 2000 and February 2001. .
In December 2000, the police also raided a nearby oven, which is mentioned in many of the original witness testimonies.
