Who is Jennifer Mbazira?

Jennifer Mbazira, 50, from Clapham, southwest London, sent threatening emails to the man, who she believed was a billionaire, threatening to tell her family, business associates and friends that she had performed “degrading” s*xual acts with her. her.

The court heard that she demanded enough money to “buy a house, start a new business and put her son through college” in exchange for promising to leave him alone and “not reveal details of our relationship”.

But the businessman, director of two companies, told the jury that his ideas were “fictitious”, since he believed that he was a billionaire businessman when he was “far from it”.

He also said that he had researched the terms “defamation, libel and slander” and suggested that he do the same.

However, on Christmas Eve 2018, she emailed again to say, “I’m going to send a copy of my last email to the company you represent and to your children.”

She wrote: ‘You destroyed my life for your own needs. You are a fraud who violated my life and my privacy. You used me and showed no consideration for my son.

You went back on your promises to fund my fashion business while making millions and millions for yourself and others.

The court heard that she accused him of “leaving us in a rat-infested house while you represent a company.”

The businessman told the court that she found the email “particularly threatening and particularly unpleasant … particularly on Christmas Eve.”

He said: “I didn’t think her accusations were fair or truthful in any way.”

The court heard that he made this clear to her in email conversations in the new year, but her responses became “more and more about money”.

She wrote to him: ‘Please take this seriously as when I press the button it slips out of my hands. I made it clear who I will send this to: your company, family, clubs, children and social networks.

‘You presented yourself as successful and generous… However, despite some promises, you made no effort for me and got 100 percent of what you wanted from me.

You worked your way through our lives by making promises like moving out and helping my eBay store.

The alleged victim said he finally decided to offer her the £20,000 he had asked for in June 2018, but she turned him down because she wanted enough money to “buy a house, start a new business and put her son through university” in exchange for promising to leave him alone and ‘not reveal details of our relationship’.

He told her in emails: ‘I’m not a billionaire. I had a good career [but] I don’t own the companies I work for. I am not a self-made entrepreneur.

‘There is a big difference between the director of a company (me) and the person who owns the company (not me).

‘I was generous when we were together, I never asked you to split the bills with me, but I don’t live a life of luxury.

I’m sorry you saw me as a billionaire businessman when it should have been obvious I wasn’t.

The idea that I can set you up for life is a fantasy.

The court heard her reply: ‘I have never dated a man who expected me to split the bill. This should be a given.

‘Most men don’t mind being the provider, especially when their partner doesn’t have privileges.

‘I cannot accept this [£20,000 offer] because I am heavily in debt, living with rats and facing homelessness.

‘You say you want me to leave… However, I need to be able to buy a house, set up my own new business and help [my son] through university.

“I will keep our relationship private and I also promise never to contact you again…I am looking for £10m.”

“This will allow both of us to peacefully move on with our lives.”

The alleged victim said that upon reading this she immediately went to the police in February 2019.

She told the court: ‘To say that I felt threatened was an understatement… I was really very, very worried and worried.

“I didn’t have £10m to give him. I’m very comfortable, wealthy, but I don’t have £10m assets.

‘I only had one option, which was to go to the police.

‘I seemed to have become a fictitious person… I wasn’t a billionaire. far from there It seemed unrelated to reality and I felt tremendously threatened.’

Mbazira, a London mother, denies a blackmail charge.
