Jennifer Hesse Biography
Who is Jennifer Hesse ?
A dance teacher who sent a large number of s*xual messages to a 13-year-old boy in her class containing “outpourings of love” has been saved from jail.
Jennifer Hesse, 48, became obsessed with the boy she was tutoring privately in Bournemouth, Dorset.
The married mother of two abused her position of trust and secretly sent her “intensely s*xual” Whatsapp messages.
She encouraged the boy, whose name cannot be identified for legal reasons, to be “picky” with her, even though he told her to leave him alone.
In one message, she told him: ‘I need you to be sensitive all the time’.
Hesse then warned the ’embarrassed’ young man to quickly delete the messages so that her parents would not discover them.
When the victim told Hesse that he had a girlfriend and wanted the ‘relationship’ to stop, she became jealous and pressured him to carry it on.
It came to a stop when the boy’s mother discovered the messages and went to the police.
Hesse was found guilty of s*xual communication with a child to gain s*xual gratification following a trial in which the victim was forced to give evidence and was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court.
Nicola Talbot-Hadley, prosecuting, said: ‘The victim gave evidence in which he rejected that he had a crush on Mrs Hesse and the jury also rejected this version of events.
‘The jury were given a great deal of messages between them. It was extremely intense and emotionally pressurising.
‘It often took place late at night and the defendant was under the influence of alcohol some of the time.
‘The messages were s*xualised and there was reference to “touch and tease”. She repeatedly told him she loved him.’
The court heard that the victim eventually told the dance tutor he had a girlfriend.
Hesse then responded, ‘You’re 13 and you don’t have the capacity for that yet… I want you to be able to love me exactly the way I need to.’
Ms Talbot-Hadley continued: ‘This was a breach of trust.
‘It became the ‘new normal’ for her that she had to deal with such intense and pressured messages. They left him stressed and embarrassed.
It is clear that he did not want to go to dance school for fear of meeting Mrs. Hesse.
Hesse delivered a letter to the judge in which she explained that she had “trouble understanding limits.”
Addressing his victim’s family in court, he said he had overstepped the mark “over and over again.”
She said: ‘This feels unforgivable and it breaks my heart. I would like to step back in time and change what I have done. All I can do now is work on my mental health and make sure I don’t make the same mistake again.”
Audrey Archer, mitigating, said that Hesse suffered
Audrey Archer, mitigating, said that Hesse suffered from ‘unacknowledged depression and childhood trauma’ and endured an unhappy marriage during the period of the offence.
Judge Richard Onslow reprimanded Hesse for treating the 13-year-old boy as a “romantic figure” whom he subjected to “outpourings of love”.
He said: ‘You were treating him as a romantic figure knowing the whole time he was 13. You bombarded him with messages and didn’t listen when he said, ‘please stop.’
‘You put a heavy burden on him to satisfy what you perceived to be your needs. Some of these messages were aimed at s*xual gratification.
Hesse received a 12-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
He must also complete 100 hours of unpaid work and has been on the s*x offender registry for 10 years.
Hesse received a restraining order and a s*xual harm prevention order that prohibited her from contacting children under the age of 16 without his parents’ consent for five years.
