Jean Eagers Murder case Interrogations
The man, who is 60 years old and was known to the deceased woman, was arrested on Sunday morning at the crime scene, immediately after the murder.
However, during his arrest, he suffered several injuries that require medical attention.
As a result, his interrogation was suspended and he was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.
He is still under medical treatment since his transfer to the hospital on Sunday afternoon and the guards are waiting for authorization from the medical team to begin his interrogation.
Suspect was detained under article 4
The suspect was detained under article 4 of the criminal justice system, which allows him to be interrogated for 24 hours without charge upon resumption of the interrogation.
It is understood that the suspect’s injuries were self-inflicted.
Several weapons, including a samurai sword and cleaver, were removed from the house when the murder occurred, believed to have been used during the murder.

Eagers was found dead at his home in Willow Wood Grove, Hartstown, west of Dublin, around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
A young man in his twenties was in the house at the time and was said to have witnessed the attack on Eagers or its aftermath before rushing to a nearby house to sound the alarm.
When Gardaí arrived at the scene, the suspect was inside and refused to leave, Gardai forcing himself into the house and arresting him.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate Eagers, but she was declared dead at the scene.
The victim and the alleged murderer have been well known for decades and the gardai are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder.
The impatient had two grown children and worked at Marks & Spencers at the Blanchardstown shopping center.
She lived for many years in the house where she was murdered.
