Couple Who Charged

Daniel and Ashley Schwarz were charged with capital murder on Monday August in the death of 8-year-old Jaylin Anne, whom they raised.

Daniel, 44, and Ashley, 34, were arrested and taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center, Odessa police said in a statement Monday.

Odessa police said an investigation was opened after police were called to Schwarz’s home on Aug. 29 and found Jaylin “dead at the scene.”

Found After Investigations

The 8-year-old boy had been fined and was not allowed to eat breakfast and was asked to get on the trampoline without stopping for an extended period. Further investigation revealed that at age 8 he was not allowed to drink water because he did not skip it. ”

The temperature on the trampoline “was about 110 degrees and the ground about 150 degrees,” police said. The high temperature in Odessa on Aug. 29 was 103 degrees, according to Accuweather.com.

The latest autopsy, carried out by police on Thursday, revealed that Jaylin’s cause of death was dehydration and described the nature of his murder.

According to her obituary

Jaylin “was full of life, he loved horseback riding, ice skating and everything that happened outside. She loved all people and animals and was very interested in history and science. ”

The couple are not Jaylin’s biological parents, but they were her guardians, family members told CBS 7.

His biological mother, Alysha Anderton, wrote on social media about trying to access her daughter and Jaylin’s sister, who were also in the care of the Schwarz family at the time of Jaylin’s death.

“I never had a chance to tell her how hard she was trying to be in her life and she was so close,” Anderton wrote on Facebook. “It’s only been a few months before we can see them.”

“But I was late. And all I can imagine is that she will leave this world not knowing how much I love her and how much I wanted her. It’s not fair. “You have so many memories of her and everything I have left. There is a hole in my heart. It is so big that I am completely deaf and empty. Part of my soul is dead and I will never be the same again.”

It was not immediately clear if Daniel and Ashley had legal representation to speak on their behalf.
