Police were called to Staybridge Suites in Fitchburg on Jan.1, according to a criminal complaint, after medical staff said an overdose victim at the hotel was unlikely to survive.
There the officers met with Ceniceros Martínez. She then she had a medical emergency and had to be taken to the hospital.
Police found Ochoa Zelaya in a hallway. An autopsy revealed that he had died from a mixture of fentanyl, acetylfentanyl, and heroin.
Ceniceros Matinez later told police that she was a sex worker and Ochoa Zelaya hired her on New Year’s Eve.
She said that she left stains of a mixture of heroin and fentanyl on the bathroom counter in her room and that Ochoa-Zelaya used them when she was out of the room, which infuriated her. She didn’t try to help him when she overdosed, but she got high on her own.
She later got him a luggage cart to move her body, but she struggled and was unable to move further down the hall.
