Who is Jason Baglio?
Jason Baglio, a well-known Elvis Presley tribute artist who performed under the name “Jayson Alfano,” has died after sustaining a gunshot wound, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Steele confirmed today. Steele said the incident occurred last night and that the suspect has been arrested in New Orleans.
Baglio is a resident of Independence and launched his career in Tangipahoa Parish before becoming known throughout the Southeast for his performance.
Livingston’s agents were dispatched to the 25000 block of Homestead Drive in Denham Springs in reference to the shooting.
Suspect and Investigation
Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said the shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
After investigations, detectives said they identified 28-year-old Trace Pigott as the suspect.

According to agents, Pigott left the scene before they arrived, but was later found in New Orleans and arrested by NOPD.
Trace Pigott is being held at Orleans Parish Prison on various charges, but will be transported and processed to the Livingston Parish Detention Center on one count of murder in the second degree, according to the LPSO.
Agents said Pigott’s father, Tommy Ray, 53, was present when Baglio was shot and killed.
According to our partners at The Advocate, Jason Baglio, who performs under the name “Jayson Alfano,” was a well-known Elvis impersonator. He was also the head chef for the Livingston Council on Aging.
At this time, it is unclear what triggered the shooting.

Cause of Death
Livingston’s agents were dispatched to the 25000 block of Homestead Drive in Denham Springs in reference to the shooting.
He died from his injuries.
“This all unfolded around 3:30 this morning,” Sheriff Jason Ard said. “Baglio was shot several times and died from his injuries. Through evidence obtained at the scene, LPSO detectives would name Trace Pigott, 28, as the shooter. ”
Authorities say Pigott fled the scene before officers arrived. He was tracked down to the New Orleans area where he was detained by NOPD.
According to officers, they were called to the 25,000th stretch of Homestead Drive after reports of gunfire came in.
In an LPSO statement, when officers arrived they found the victim, Jason Baglio, with multiple gunshot wounds.
Who is Trace Pigott and Father
Pigott’s father, Tommy Ray, 53, was also present when Baglio was killed and fled the scene with his son, Ard said. Tommy Ray is still wanted by deputies.

“When found, Tommy Ray will be charged as principal for second degree murder,” Ard said. “At this time, it is not clear what caused the shooting.”
Trace Pigott is currently in Orleans Parish Prison on various charges.
