Jacqueline Lewis Biography
Jacqueline Lewis is the wife of Wally Lewis. He is a former Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, and was a coach in the 1980s and 1990s. He became a commentator for television coverage of the sport. Lewis, a highly decorated Australian national captain, is widely regarded as one of the best players in rugby league. The Queensland Origin legend revealed the split in a statement issued by Channel 9, where he works as a sports host.
“Wally and Jacqui Lewis separated last year after 36 years of marriage. It has been a difficult time for everyone in the family and they are still working on the details of the separation, ”the statement read.
Lewis, 61, who shares three children – Mitchell, Lincoln and Jamie-Lee – with Jacqui, admitted that the separation had taken a toll on his family. He is now in a new relationship.
“This is a deeply personal matter that we do not want to discuss publicly, but I do want to acknowledge the pain and discomfort my family has been through since Jacqui and I separated last year. I hope that in time we can rebuild our ties and move on with life, ”said Lewis.
