A Jersey City man was shot in the leg and arrested Friday night after police discovered more than 200 bags of glassine while he was helping.
Jersey City Police responded to 293 Linden Ave at 10:30 p.m. between Fowler and Woodland streets. and found Jabar Evans, 42, shot in the left leg, city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.
Evans was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. While Evans was being treated, police found him in possession of 202 white glass bags containing suspicious drugs, Wallace-Scalcione said, noting that other drugs had been collected at the hospital.
Evans was charged with drug possession, possession with the intent to extend within 150 yards of a public housing and park, drug production, and other crimes.
