Investigation
A terrorism investigation has been launched in Texas after a man shot and killed a Lyft driver, stole her car and drove to a police station where he opened fire before being killed by cops.Isabella Lewis, a Lyft driver, was called by Rasheed. ‘We think he called a Lyft, and she was the person who showed up,’ police said. Rasheed then shot and killed her and stole her car.DeSarno declined to name the terrorist group, or say if it was the same group it was feared to be connected to in the earlier investigation.“In any investigation there comes a time when we can no longer consider investigating a topic. And the case team decided that he posed no threat. That was eight years ago. ‘
Search
On Monday, police said they had left a note at the stolen Lyft that prompted police to call the FBI and open a terrorism investigation.
“Through our search for clues, we found a note on the car that gives us some kind of reason for both shots, and also a reason for us to speak to the FBI,” said Jeff Bryan, Garland Police Chief.

The content of the note was not disclosed.
“Rasheed may have been inspired by a foreign terrorist organization to commit these acts,” said Matthew DeSarno, special agent in charge of the FBI in Dallas.
“That’s all I can say about it, but the bottom line is that we think he may have been inspired.”
He added: ‘I have not found any evidence that he was led by or in contact with foreign terrorist actors.
‘He was inspired by rhetoric and / or propaganda. He was not ordered to do this. ‘
“I don’t want to give any organization a chance to claim credit for this,” he said.
He said they believe Rashid acted alone and have no proof that he knew Lewis.
“At this point, we do not believe that the suspect received help from others or that others were involved in the incident,” he said.
DeSarno added:
‘I cannot discuss specific details of the investigation.
‘We have analyzed the steps that were taken and I am satisfied that the investigation team has done it properly and thoroughly.
Ed Drain, Plano Police Chief, said Rasheed did not live in Plano and they did not know why he traveled to his city to carry out the attack on him.
“We have no idea why he came to Plano to confront law enforcement,” Drain said.
