Virginia police said a man Henry Cardona shot his ex-wife Esmeralda Renderos before shooting himself in what they are investigating as a homicide-suicide.
Death of Esmeralda Renderos and Henry Cardona | Esmeralda Renderos and Henry Cardona Obituary: Esmeralda Renderos, 45, and Henry Cardona, 37, were found dead in a Centerville home Sunday morning, November 1, 2020 in what appears to be a murder-suicide, in Fairfax County. the police revealed. Officers were dispatched to the 14000 block of Black Horse Court in the Newgate community for a shooting that occurred just before 10 a.m.
They said they found Renderos outside the home with an apparent gunshot wound, while Cardona was found inside the home also suffering an apparent gunshot wound. Both were declared deceased at the scene. Detectives believe Cardona shot Renderos when he got to the home before shooting himself.

14400 block of Black Horse
Fairfax County police officers broke into a row house in the 14400 block of Black Horse Court in Centerville just before 10 a.m. Sunday to report a shooting.
As they approached the property, they found Esmeralda Renderos, 45, outside the house, who suffered a gunshot wound.
At the residence, authorities located Renderos’ husband, Henry Cardona, 37, who also suffered a gunshot wound. Both were declared dead at the scene.
Detectives with the Police Major Crimes Office believe Cardona shot Renderos when he got home and committed suicide.
“Renderos and Cardona were married, but they should be separated,” said a police press release.
The chief physician’s office performs autopsies to confirm cause of death.
Renderos’ death marks the twelfth murder in Fairfax County that year.
