Helal Safi Biography
A violent underworld figure who once survived a stabbing 42 times in jail was found dead.
Helal Safi was found dead in an apartment on Stapleton Street, Pendle Hill in Sydney on Saturday after a neighbor heard screams for help around 4 a.m.
The 45-year-old man, who weighed an impressive 200 kg, was found unconscious and unconscious when paramedics arrived.
Safi could not be revived and a crime scene was set up when officers seized various items, including drug paraphernalia, the Daily Telegraph reported.
He was known as a “major player” who was associated with motorcycles and criminals and was feared throughout the Sydney underworld.

Safi survived was due to his size, otherwise he would have died.
In October last year, Safi was arrested on a south Wentworthville street following a Firearms Prohibition Orders raid.
Officers seized weapons, bicycle paraphernalia, banned drugs and cash from the home, and arrested a total of eight people.
Safi was charged with eight firearms offenses, including possession or use of a prohibited weapon without a permit.
Attorney Elias Tabchouri told Magistrate Bree Chisholm that Safi was suffering from serious medical problems after the stabbing a decade ago.
She explained that Safi suffered from an enlarged heart, kidney failure and swollen legs and had to take seven different types of medication each day to control pain.
Safi got out of jail a few weeks ago.
