While Trump was still running for president, Bornstein, his personal physician, published a letter (see above) praising Trump’s health.

“For the past 39 years, I am pleased to report that Mr. Trump has had no major medical problems,” Dr. Harold Bornstein wrote in the letter. “Mr. Trump has had a recent full medical exam that showed only positive results.”

Bornstein’s letter contained effusive language about the president’s health. In the letter, Bornstein said, “If he is elected, Mr. Trump, I can unequivocally affirm that he will be the healthiest person ever elected to the presidency.”

According to NBC News, the doctor and the president had a fight in 2017, when Bornstein accused Trump’s bodyguard and lawyer of going to his office without warning to take the president’s medical records.

Bornstein called the incident a “raid.” According to NBC, it came shortly after the doctor revealed that he had prescribed the president a drug for hair growth.

He told NBC that he felt “violated, scared and sad.” The White House press secretary said taking the logs was “standard operating procedure for a new president.”
