Gina Carano Biography
Gina Carano will star in a film project she is producing with The Daily Wire after Disney fired her from her role in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian for comparing the political climate to the Nazi era.
Carano, the actress and former mixed martial arts fighter, confirmed on Friday her collaboration with The Daily Wire, the right-leaning news and opinion website founded by conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.
“The Daily Wire is helping to make one of my dreams come true, develop and produce my own movie,” Carano told Deadline, who initially broke the news.
I screamed and my prayer was answered. I am sending a direct message of hope to all who live in fear of being canceled by the totalitarian mob.
“I have just started using my voice, which is now freer than ever, and I hope it inspires others to do the same.
“They can’t cancel us if we don’t allow them.”

Later in the day on Friday, Carano tweeted: ‘This is just the beginning .. welcome to the rebellion.’ The tweet was in response to a post by Shapiro touting the newly announced partnership.
Shapiro told his web publication by him: ‘We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left.
‘This is what Daily Wire exists to do: provide an alternative not just for consumers, but for creators who refuse to bow to the mob.
‘We’re eager to bring Gina’s talent to Americans who love her, and we’re just as eager to show Hollywood that if they want to keep canceling those who think differently, they’ll just be helping us build the X-wing to take down their Death Star. ‘
After the announcement, Shapiro posted a tweet with the hashtag #GinaCaranoIsUncancelled.
Shapiro’s web publication also trolled Disney and its Star Wars franchise by posting a meme featuring Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Shapiro teased the announcement earlier in the day on Friday. ‘We are delaying the live-start of “The Ben Shapiro Show” for just a bit … because we have a HUGE announcement to make,’ he wrote.
So far, no details have been announced about the exact nature of the project.
The film will be produced alongside Dallas Sonnier and his company, Bonfire Legend.
The Daily Wire, a Nashville, Tennessee-based media company, has been working to expand its reach by foraying into the entertainment space.
‘We’re going to be bringing out movies-edgy, entertaining, awesome movies that won’t mock your values,’ Shapiro wrote recently in explaining his company’s strategy of him.
‘We’re going to be producing TV shows – comedies and dramas that take you seriously, and that don’t take advantage of your viewership to promote Leftist causes.’
This past January, the company and Bonfire Legend teamed up to release its first full-length feature film, Run Hide Fight, which tells the story of a high school senior who confronts her armed classmates as they perpetrate a mass shooting.
Calls to boycott Disney grew after the company fired Carano for a social media post that likened the murder of Jews during the Holocaust to the current US political climate.

The conservative actress and former MMA fighter came under fire after she posted on Instagram Stories that “Jews were beaten on the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors … even by children.”
The post continued: ‘Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily arrest thousands of Jews, the government first had your own neighbors will hate you simply for being Jewish.
“How is that different from hating someone for their political opinions?”
A Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday that Carano is not currently employed by the production company and that “there are no plans for her in the future.”
“However, her posts on social media that denigrate people for their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable,” the statement read.
Talent agency UTA also removed Carano as a client following the controversy, according to Variety.
Disney was charged with double standards Thursday for Carano’s firing after it emerged that Mandalorian co-star Pedro Pascal compared ICE administration centers to Nazi concentration camps.
But since then it has emerged that in 2018 the actor Pascal shared a picture of Germany 1944 and what he said was America 2018. He wrote: ‘#ThisisAmerica’.
Cancel Disney + began trending on Twitter shortly after Carano’s firing, with many pointing to Pascal’s comments as evidence of the company’s hypocrisy when dealing with conservative stars.
Donald Trump Jr. shared the actor’s post, writing: ‘Same movie as @ginacarano, same analogy, although the photo is incorrectly dated … I was told it was 2010 under Obama / Biden.
‘So does @Disney discriminate against women for doing what their male actors do or is it just discrimination against conservatives?’
Blogger Matt Walsh added: ‘Pedro Pascal, an actor from The Mandalorian, not only compared the United States to Nazi Germany, but he did so to a photo of’ America in 2018 ‘that is not actually from 2018 and neither from America.
He still has his job.
Right-wing commentator Jack Posobiec said: “Stop giving money to people who hate you.” He added: ‘Disney rehired James Gunn but fired Gina Carano, he tells you all about it.’
Gunn, a vocal critic of Donald Trump, was fired in 2018 after offensive jokes surfaced on sensitive topics such as pedophilia, rape, the 9/11 terrorist attack and the Holocaust. He was rehired in 2019.
