Gianno Caldwell’s teenage brother was shot and killed in Chicago amid a weekend of violence in the city.

The suspect fled the scene in a black pickup truck, according to police.
So far, no arrests have been made.
In an emotional Twitter post on Saturday, Giano wrote: “Yesterday was the worst day of my existence.
“I received a call informing me that my teenage brother was murdered on the south side of Chicago. I could never have imagined that they would steal my little brother’s life,” he wrote alongside a photo of his brother smiling at him in his graduation gown.
“What I am looking for at the moment are details from the police to find out who it was that murdered my brother. [My] little brother never had a chance,” he said.
“I would never like to see street justice or violence against people who even murdered my little brother. But I do want them to be brought to justice,” he added.
Shooting
The news comes after a weekend of violence that left at least four dead, including a five-month-old girl.
The girl, whom police identified as Cecilia Thomas, was shot in the head by another car in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood.
She was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
A local business owner told ABC7 Chicago that the girl’s father stopped near 71st Street and Crandon Avenue, about a mile and a half from the scene of the shooting after she started crying.
A 41-year-old man who was in a separate car was shot around the eye and taken to hospital, but he is expected to survive his injuries.
In the first shooting of the weekend, a 20-year-old man was shot in the West Pullman neighborhood on Friday night, CBS News reports.
Police said around 8:10 p.m. m., an unknown felon shot, in the 11700 block of South Princeton, striking the victim in the neck.
A 28-year-old man was shot while walking in Washington Park on Friday night.
Police said the victim was walking on the sidewalk in the 300 block of East 59th Street around 8:18 p.m. m., when unknown criminals shot.
Officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his body in Roseland.
The 45-year-old victim was discovered in the 10700 block of South Champlain at around 10:59 p.m. m.
Death
The victim was transported by the Chicago Fire Department to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
So far in 2022, crime in Chicago is up 34 percent, according to the latest figures from the city’s police department.
Violent crime, which includes murder, criminal s*xual assault, aggravated assault and robbery, is up 10 percent so far this year compared to 2021, statistics show.
The Caldwell brothers had shared an emotional exchange on Twitter less than a week before the Father’s Day shooting.
