Gia Cuevas Biography
Who is Gia Cuevas?
Gia Cuevas is widely known as the wife of Victor Cuevas, the man linked to a missing tiger in Houston. A Bengal tiger cub was finally rescued just days after he was filmed wandering a quiet Houston neighborhood on Sunday, May 9. The big cat, named India, was turned over to authorities in the Texas city on Saturday, May 15 and is now in the care of an animal shelter, KHOU reported.
The nine-month-old cub will be moved to the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, which is a sanctuary for animals, including other tigers.
How old is Gia Cuevas?
Gia Cuevas is believed to be in her 30s.
Gia Cuevas Houston
Houston police shared a video from India, which is tame. Wearing a sparkling turquoise necklace, the tiger was being fed a bottle of milk by Gia, wife of the alleged assassin Victor Cuevas, who had allegedly purchased the beast. “We caught him and he’s healthy,” Houston Police Department Commander Ron Borza said at a May 15 news conference. BARC, the local animal shelter they took to India, notified authorities that a concerned citizen who was in contact with Gia wanted to turn him over. Where the tiger was all week and why Cuevas decided to contact the police remains to be understood.

Borza said India had been smuggled through several “safe houses” as part of an effort to try to hide the big cat while authorities searched for it. “He wanted to hand over the tiger to us,” Borza said of Gia Cuevas, who met with police on the west side of town and turned the tiger over to police custody before being taken to the shelter. “The tiger appears to be in very good health,” added Borza.
“However, that he had been in a” very small box when they brought him in today. ”
“As you can see, now it’s in a much bigger box and it seems to be fine,” Borza said. Cuevas was reportedly allowed to accompany him when the tiger was handed over to BARC “due to the stress the tiger has suffered in recent weeks.”

“He was obviously agitated and we got into the trailer with him, Gia fed him while we sat there and fed him. The animal likes attention, ”said Borza.
“But in no way, shape or form, should he have such an animal in his home.”
“As an adult, that animal can weigh 600 pounds. It still has its claws and it could do a lot of damage if it wanted to, ”said Borza. “Luckily for us, he is very meek and tomorrow he will go to a sanctuary where, hopefully, he will live the rest of his life in a very safe environment.”
“I exercise every day and that animal was extremely powerful. If I wanted to beat you, I could do it instantly, ”added the police commander. “Without a doubt, you shouldn’t have that in your house. And it is not good for the tiger. He needs to be wandering around. ”
Victor Cuevas Houston
Police have not determined where Victor Cuevas bought the tiger. Police have no immediate plans to charge Gia Cuevas for keeping the tiger, although that is illegal. Authorities are still trying to find out where Victor Cuevas bought the beast.
After his arrest, Cuevas told police that India was not his and that his true owner was a man named Deandre. Tigers are allowed to be kept as pets under Texas state law. However, Houston has its own city rules that prohibit these exotic animals in private homes. “It is a story that makes us feel good. I think people get tired of playing the news every night and it’s all doom and gloom. This went very well, ”Borza said.
India was captured on surveillance footage touring west Houston last Sunday before the killer Cuevas was seen pushing him into a white Jeep Cherokee.
Victor Cuevas arrested
Cuevas was detained by authorities, but there was no sign of India.
It was later learned that the animal had passed between a series of safe houses during the week to hide it from law enforcement.
Cuevas, who was released on bail after a July 2017 shooting outside a Japanese restaurant, is now back behind bars.
