Who is Gabriel Gipe ?
The Natomas Unified School District is investigating a teacher who was allegedly caught on video claiming that he has an Antifa flag in his classroom and encourages students to go to protests.
An organization called Project Veritas filmed and edited the video that they say shows Inderkum High School government teacher Gabriel Gipe having a controversial conversation off campus.

“I have 180 days to turn them into revolutionaries,” Gipe allegedly said in the video.
Gipe allegedly goes on to say: “I have an Antifa flag on my wall. One student complained about it and said that he made them feel uncomfortable. Well, he’s meant to make the fascists uncomfortable, I don’t know what to tell you. ”
Natomas’ parents said they resent the extreme political beliefs taught in a public school.
“As an adult, as a parent, as something you have to be responsible. You have to show that you are being aware, ”said Imee Jacob, a mother of Natomas.
The video has been widely shared and is angering parents and communities across Northern California.
“I think one of the first things that really bothered me was the fact that he says he uses fear from him. He uses fear to motivate students, ”said Chris Orr, a concerned citizen.
Natomas Unified School District said they are aware of the video
Orr said he wants to stage a protest at the next school district board meeting.
“I don’t understand how or why the administration of this school has allowed this,” Orr said.
A spokesperson for the Natomas Unified School District said they are aware of the video, but did not mention the teacher’s employment status.
In a statement, the district said:
“District policy explicitly states that whenever civics includes topics that may be controversial due to political beliefs or other influences, the instruction will be presented in a balanced manner that does not promote any particular point of view.”
Some feel this is beyond words and are concerned about safety. Gipe can apparently be heard in the video where he talks about how students are encouraged to attend the protests.
“The teacher doesn’t just give his opinion on politics from time to time, he seems to be a fundamental part of the curriculum in this classroom,” Orr said.
