Gabriel Bringye Biography
The body of Gabriel Bringye, 37, who was planning his wedding for the end of this year, was found last night in his vehicle outside a school in Tottenham.
Detectives believe he was killed by a client who had fled when police arrived. Friends say nothing was stolen and believe Bringye was the victim of a targeted attack or that he had an argument with his client.
A bus driver parked in front of Mr. Bringye’s private taxi alerted the police, and an air ambulance was called, but he was pronounced dead at the scene 40 minutes later.
The victim was originally from Romania, but had been in the UK for 13 years and had worked as a minicab driver in London since 2015.

His sister has given police details of his last pickup, which was an address in Tottenham.
The fare was requested through the Bolt mobile app in which customers can book a private rental taxi in the same way they use the Gett app.
A friend paid tribute to Mr Bringye, who lived in Leyton, East London, and said that he was excited to marry his fiancee Mara later this year.
They said: ‘The wedding plans had been called off due to Covid, but Gabriel was hopeful that he and Mara could get married this year.
It is a terrible tragedy. He was the kindest and gentlest human being you could ever meet. He wouldn’t hurt a fly. We are all in shock.
We don’t know if he maybe he had an argument with a passenger and was stabbed for it. I can’t believe why someone would want to hurt him.

He himself had no children, but he adored his sister’s children. He was a great-uncle and very close to his brother and sister, who lived close to him.
“ We still do not know many details, he was working last night and apparently he was killed right after he had collected a ticket.
“The police were called by someone who had been on a bus parked in front of the crime scene.”
Bringye lived with Mara in a row house in Tottenham. She was too upset to speak this morning.
However, another friend told MailOnline: “ We believe a customer stabbed him during a trip on the Bolt app.
‘The attacker did not take anything from him and it happened in a low traffic area, leaving the impression that the attacker perhaps prepared everything in advance.
Gabriel’s sister managed to log into his Bolt account and the last trip had not yet closed, so he was able to see the pickup address that was on N17, near where the murder occurred.

Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Crime Specialist are leading the investigation. An autopsy is planned. There have been no arrests.
A Met spokesperson said: ‘Police were called to Jarrow Road, N17 at 7:21 pm on Wednesday 17 February after concerns were raised about an unresponsive injured man inside a vehicle at the scene.
The officers assisted with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance.
“The man, believed to be in his 30s, was found with a wound consistent with being stabbed.”
