Faye Dawson Biography
Car in M6 crash that killed three-year-old Faye Dawson.
Faye Dawson, from Merseyside, was killed in the collision near Leyland, Lancashire, at around 5:50 p.m. m. last Saturday.
A 79-year-old man who was driving the sports car was also killed.
The three-year-old girl was traveling in a Vauxhall Meriva on the southbound roadway between junctions 29 and 28. Two other passengers, including her mother, remain in the hospital.
Lancashire Police have issued a new appeal for witnesses after the tragic incident urging anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
Statement
A devastating statement read: ‘Our beautiful Faye Grace, words will never express the pain we are all going through since being tragically taken from us. We cannot see the future without you, you have left a huge hole in our lives.
“Everyone says how precious their daughter/granddaughter is, but you were an exception, you were such a smart little girl who was so funny and made us all laugh all the time.
Family
You were so loving and caring and most of all so loved by everyone who knew you. You are now resting with your great-grandmother, your great-grandfather and Uncle Jimmy. Words will not justify how much we will miss you and how much we love you.
‘Your mom is being very brave and she will continue to make you proud. You were too young to be taken from us, but we know the angels will watch over you and they are lucky to have you dancing in the sky with them.
“We are all so heartbroken that you were taken too young, but we are so glad we had you for the time that we had. RIP, girl, we all miss you and will continue forever. All our love.’
Investigation
Investigating officials suspect the Porsche Boxster was traveling the wrong way on the roadway when the collision occurred, having entered the freeway at Junction 28 via the southbound slip road.
Sergeant Craig Booth of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This collision has left both families grieving in a way most of us will never understand.
“On behalf of Lancashire Police and the investigation team, I would like you to know that our thoughts are with them all, they are being supported by specially trained officers as a result of this traumatic incident.”
“I feel like I should also mention all the emergency services that were in attendance who are also trying to come to terms with what happened.”
If anyone who witnessed the collision has not yet come forward, police have asked them to do so. Additionally, if any drivers have freeway dash cam footage at the time of the collision, officers ask them to contact them.
