Who was Fawziyah Javed?
Newlywed bride Fawziyah Javed, 31, of Pudsey, West Yorkshire, was in Edinburgh just two days after celebrating her wedding with family when she fell from Arthur’s Seat
Just married Fawziyah Javed, 31, of Pudsey, West Yorkshire, had traveled to town just two days after celebrating her wedding day.
But while she was visiting the Arthur’s Seat landmark in Holyrood Park around 9 p.m. Thursday, she tragically died.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite her best efforts, the 31-year-old died at the scene.
In a statement, Scottish Police said a 27-year-old man was charged in connection with the suspicious death.
He is expected to appear in Edinburgh Sheriff’s Court on Monday.
Detective Inspector Bob Williamson said: “Fawziyah’s family asks that her privacy be respected during this extremely difficult time.
Causes of death
Fawziya worked at Lyons Davidson Solicitors in Leeds and was heavily involved in charity work before getting married late last year.
She is believed to have held her wedding reception with her loved ones on Sunday before traveling to Scotland by train earlier in the week.
The source also claimed that Fawziyah was thought to be in the early stages of a pregnancy before her tragic death.
And a heartbroken neighbor burst into tears when she described Fawziyah as a “beautiful person.”
Naseem Akhtar said: “I am very upset about her death, she was a very nice person.
“She had lived there for nine to ten months. She was a beautiful person and seemed very down to earth.
“Yesterday I was crying all day.”
Zareef Zaf Latif posted: “Fawziyah, our precious niece was taken from us too soon. I have so many memories of you when you were little.
“I will miss you very much. May Allah grant you a special place in Jannat. I hope the angels will take care of you until we meet again.”
