Goodman Is Being Commended for Saving Lives at the Capitol as Protesters Breached the Doors
Bobic shared Goodman’s efforts to ward off Senate protesters in a series of live tweets.
“This is the terrifying moment when protesters initially entered the building from the first floor and exited the Senate chamber,” he wrote on Twitter.
Wilson explained the action in the video.
“This moment in @igorbobic awesome pictures. In front of the officer, going up the stairs, there is a mass of rioters. The USCP officer looks to the left of him. Between those two chairs is the entrance to the Senate floor. He drew them to the right of him, away from his targets, ”he wrote.
The officer initially looks out the door, sees that it is not guarded, and attempts to block the way. More rioters climb the stairs behind them, and the officer seems to go with a new strategy: he pushes the first rioters away, angering him, and then leads the entire crowd in the other direction. pic.twitter.com/EPmOvDGEEP
Susan Simpson, an attorney from Washington, DC, also described what she saw in the video.
“The officer initially looks out the door, sees that she is unguarded and tries to block the way. More rioters climb the stairs behind them, and the officer seems to come up with a new strategy: he pushes the first rioters, angering him, and then leads the entire crowd in the other direction, “she wrote.
