A jealous woman doused her sleeping boyfriend with acid and then attacked him a second time as he lay wounded after mistakenly believing he was having an affair.

Detective Tom Dawood, the investigating officer, said: ‘The victim suffered extensive and horrific injuries at the hands of Afrifa and she has endured months of surgery and hospital visits since the attack.

“ I would like to congratulate colleagues from the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade who rushed to the scene and provided vital first aid that has undoubtedly reduced the severity of her injuries.

“I am pleased that Afrifa has been brought to justice for her horrible crime and now she will serve an important prison sentence.”
