Who was Erika Greber Seyfried ?

A Brooklyn editorial executive was found dead in a Vermont river after he disappeared while walking his Golden Retriever puppy on vacation at a picturesque riverside Airbnb.

Erika Greber Seyfried, Vice President of Digital Strategy and Consumer Engagement at Penguin Random House, was last seen around 11:00 a.m. Sunday as she walked her seven-month-old puppy that she shares with her husband Elijah Seyfried.

The couple, both from Ohio, who married in July 2013, were vacationing in Westminster in a home owned by a local vintage fashion retailer, according to the Brattleboro Reformer.

Bob Ross rents the first floor of his 150-year-old home on Gage Road, surrounded by 30 acres of gardens, fields, and wooded trails.

Airbnb, which advertises the property for $ 125 a night, says, “Our Saxtons River waterfall is just 150 yards from his suite and is a great place for morning coffee on the oceanfront patio. The river or a dip in the deep pool of water below the falls.

“Walk the 800m riverside trail without having to leave the property.

“We have placed benches in many private and scenic spots along the riverbank for you to enjoy. In snowy winters, we maintain these trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. ”

Vermont State Police spokesman Adam Silverman said Seyfried was reported missing at 8 p.m. Sunday night, when night fell and he had not returned from her walk.

“I understand that the victim of our accident here in Vermont is the editorial executive of New York Random House,” he said.

He said divers discovered a body in the river Monday and believed her death was accidental.

The pool where rescuers have focused their search is upstream from the infamous Twin Falls, also on the Saxtons River, where more than a dozen people have drowned in recent decades, according to the newspaper.

The body is taken to the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to confirm the identity and determine the cause and manner of death.

Investigations into the death continue.

The dog Seyfried was left with was not found, according to agency members familiar with the investigation and who spoke to NBC 5.

Seyfried joined Penguin Random House 13 years ago, according to LinkedIn.

She graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati with a master’s degree in English literature.
