A mother and daughter were stabbed to death before a man collided with a car on an overpass in an alleged double homicide suicide.

Nurse Emma Robertson Coupland, 39, was stabbed to death at 7:45 pm in front of Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, Scotland.

Her 24-year-old daughter, Nicole Anderson, was attacked 20 minutes later near a take-out store where she worked and died in hospital.

A 40-year-old man crashed a car under an overpass and police said he died at the scene around 8:30 p.m.

Police said investigations so far suggest the incidents are related and that officers are not looking for anyone as part of their investigation.

Local reporter Alex Tiffin said on Twitter that a police source told him that the events were related to a “domestic incident.”

Chief Superintendent Faroque Hussain said: “Several sites will remain isolated while officers continue their investigations.

“We are working to confirm all the circumstances of what happened. If anyone has information that can help us with our inquiries, please contact us.

“It is understandable that people are surprised by what happened. We are still in the process of establishing all the circumstances.

“I want to assure people that there is no major threat to the community. The agents will be on patrol and anyone with questions can contact these agents. ”

The honors were paid by the deceased mother and daughter, with a relative saying, “I am completely devastated, my God, this cannot happen.”

“We fought all the time, but you are my only sister, my first niece. Please tell me I’m dreaming, nobody. ”

Another male member of the family wrote: “To be honest, I can’t even express how I feel.

“Absolutely devastated to say the least, yesterday I received the worst news of my life, I cannot accept it.

“I lost my cousin, my best childhood friend, my little sister, and my savior all rolled into one !! She was the most loving and caring person in the world and she never stopped smiling! You’ll be a weird girl, Nicole.

“The best girl to ever enter this planet without a doubt, even my little spell is gone.” I will make sure your memory is never forgotten and I will take care of your little sisters for you and your mother, I will love you forever and have a nice day. ”

A friend wrote: “I am so sorry. She was the most amazing girl I had ever met, her whole family was thinking of her. I have love sickness.”

Another said, “When I think of you, my heart breaks for all of you. RIP Nicole, smile.

One of them wrote: “Nicole Anderson was a great girl and we will miss her very much.”

And one added: “I have known Nicole Anderson for years, such a beautiful girl. I am so shocked that I send you all my love and hugs. I think of you and your family in this sad moment. ”

NHS Ayrshire and Arran said last night’s ambulances were redirected to Ayr University Hospital.

A hospital witness told the Daily Record: “I was looking for someone when a member of the medical staff was stabbed to death. The whole place is closed.

“The armed police are here and they are sending everyone out of the area.”

Another witness told Ayrshire Live: “There are 10-15 police cars on the outskirts of the Moorfield Estate, half a mile from the hospital.

“It appears that an officer is on duty outside the hospital emergency department. I have lived here for a while and have never seen anything like it.

Relatives of those involved were informed.

A police statement late Thursday said the incidents are not classified as terrorist.

The hospital was closed after the first incident, but got up around 10:30 p.m. when the police said it was safe.

On Friday morning, the hospital emergency room and main entrance were open and operating normally, while two police vans full of officers with police bands were left outside in part of the parking lot.

Before the Scottish government’s daily coronavirus briefing at noon on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister John Swinney spoke of the “terrible” events.

He said: “Such a tragedy would never be understandable, but after what happened last year, it is particularly shocking that such an incident occurred in a hospital.

Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon tweeted: “Terrible news. My mind hurts

“I also think of all those at Crosshouse Hospital who are already facing the difficult circumstances of Covid. I am also grateful to our emergency services. Are you still following me? @Policescotland? Advice. ”

Downing Street said Boris Johnson’s thoughts were with those involved.

A spokesperson for No. 10 said: “The prime minister’s thoughts are with everyone involved and he thanks the police and medical staff for his response.”

Several streets in downtown Kilmarnock will remain closed, including Portland Street, West George Street and Garden Street opposite Hill Street, as well as the site of the detour accident.

A statement from the East Ayrshire Council said: “After the tragic events that occurred last night in and around Kilmarnock, our hearts go out to all the families and individuals affected by these events.

We know that our communities will be shocked and saddened by these events, but we want to assure you that there is no public risk at this time and that we will support our NHS colleagues Ayrshire & Arran and Police Scotland where we can.

“Since this is an ongoing police case, we must keep several streets closed in downtown Kilmarnock. There are detours here and on the A76 so the investigation can be done. Go ahead, we appreciate your patience and understanding. “”
