Who is Dustin Demonte ?
Bristol Police Sgt. Dustin Demonte and Officer Alex Hamzy were shot and killed in the line of duty overnight.
Officer Alec Iurato was also shot and seriously injured, but has since been released from hospital.
State police say officers were lured to a home with a bogus 911 call reporting a domestic dispute between siblings. Once they arrived, they were ambushed.

Army veteran Mike Erosenko stopped to offer a heartfelt salute.
“I served, these officers served, they paid the highest price. It’s the right thing to do, they keep us safe,” he told Aiello.
There are still many unknowns after Wednesday night’s shooting at 310 Redstone Hill Road. A man called 911 to report a problem with his brother. When the police arrived, the brother opened fire.
“Ten to 15 quick ‘bang, bang, bang, bang.’ He paused for a minute, then another 15 or 20 ‘bang, bang, bang, bang.’ And then one shot,” said Ken Przygocki, a resident of Bristol board.
At one point, a SWAT team could be seen approaching the rental house in a quiet neighborhood.
Connecticut State Police offered few details.
“Shots were fired, fatally wounding an officer at the scene,” said state police Sgt. Christine Jeltema said. “The suspect was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene.”
Sergeant Dustin Demonte was killed. He was married to his wife Laura with two children and a third on the way.
Aiello offered his condolences to his parents and his aunt, who were kind to his grief when they arrived at the Bristol Police Department around 9:30 a.m. m. from Thursday.
Officer Alex Hamzy
Officer Alex Hamzy, part of a well-known and well-respected family, also died. He is survived by his wife, Katie.
A third officer was injured: 26-year-old Alex Iurato.
Mayor Jeff Caggiano spoke on behalf of the grieving city.
We are united in immeasurable grief for those official heroes, for their families, for their friends, and for all of our law enforcement personnel,” he said.
A ray of hope on this terrible day: Officer Iurato was released from St. Francis Hospital around 11 a.m. m., encouraged by brothers and sisters who wore the uniform. His recovery journey will certainly be physical and mental.
We still don’t know the name of the gunshot suspect, nor the condition of his brother, who was also injured.
Nicholas Brutcher Suspect
When officers arrived, the suspect, Nicholas Brutcher, was standing outside the home on Redstone Hill Road and immediately began shooting, authorities said. Mr. Hamzy was shot and killed at the scene, while Sergeant Demonte was taken to hospital and pronounced dead there.
Mr. Brutcher, 35, was shot to death outside the home, State Police said. His brother, Nathan Brutcher, 32, was also shot and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. His status is unknown.
Norberto Rodríguez, who lives across the street from where the shooting occurred, said he saw a man dressed in camouflage come out of the house with a gun. Another man ran out, apparently to grab him, and the man with the rifle shot him, Rodriguez said.
