Who is Dr Jeremy Morris ?
The head of a historic Cambridge University college resigned after allegations that he did not adequately investigate a case of s*xual abuse.
An independent investigation had recommended that Trinity Hall consider disciplinary action against his teacher, Dr. Jeremy Morris, in connection with his handling of an accusation.

In a statement issued today, the College confirmed his departure after seven years and thanked him for his nearly decade of service at Cambridge.
He had already retired from his duties last year while the university considered his response to the issues raised in a report published by an online news website.
Trinity Hall said, in a statement posted on its website Tuesday: ‘The university has accepted the resignation of the Master, the Rev. Canon Dr. Jeremy Morris.
Following allegations made on an online news site in early 2020, the Trinity Hall Board of Directors agreed in March of that year to commission an external and independent investigation, led by Gemma White QC, into the university’s management of all the allegations raised.
The investigation report recommends that the school consider disciplinary action against the Teacher in connection with his handling of an accusation made against a third party.

The Master questions this recommendation, noting in particular the recognition of the research that several collaborators praised their personal support for those who have raised problems of s*xual abuse in specific situations.
However, he considers that the best thing for the school is for him to offer his resignation, given the difficulties of the last 18 months, so that he can begin his search for a new Master’s degree.

He temporarily stepped down from his duties while an internal investigation was conducted, led by attorney Gemma White QC, before resigning 18 months later.
In May this year, Trinity released an update to its report that revealed that its Investigation Report will include recommendations for the creation of a ‘S*xual Misconduct Task Force’, including both current and former students.
