Doris and her twin sister Lilian Cox became celebrities in their own right after stealing the hearts of the nation as the oldest identical twins in Britain.
They became popular figures in line with their positive outlook on life and their sense of humor.
Doris rose to fame alongside her twin sister after saying her old age secret was “a lot of sex” during an episode of Good Morning Britain.

Due to current coronavirus restrictions, only a limited number were able to attend Doris’s funeral, who saw her buried with her husband Ray hers, whom she lost 11 years ago after 65 years of marriage.
To make it even more special, the family chose a longer route so that people could pay their respects and stopped at the supermarket.
The route also included passing the Kings Arms pub, where the twins used to visit, on the way to the church.
People gathered outside the stored socially distanced to pay their respects to the much-loved Doris, one of the oldest twins in Britain
Lillian’s granddaughter, Kerry Clarke, of Hagley, Worcestershire, said: “A lot of people have been asking what they can do in memory of Doris, be it light a candle or play a song at the same time.
“What we are doing is having a longer route to church and people can stand in the street to see her off, since we can’t have hundreds to attend her funeral.”
Lilian and Doris lived on the same street after they got married, worked together at a brewery in Birmingham, and more recently lived together in sheltered accommodation in Tipton.
Ms. Cox also tested positive for coronavirus last month. The twins were admitted to the hospital, but Doris sadly died on January 5.
Cause Of Death
It was the first time that she was admitted to a hospital. Tragically, just two days after her death, Doris’s vaccination appointment letter arrived in the mail.
Since then, Lillian has been released from the hospital.
She spoke to her sister on the phone, begging her to “fight for her life,” but it broke her heart upon learning of Doris’s death.
Late last month, she appeared again on ITV’s Good Morning Britain with her great-grandson Brayden Clarke, and paid tribute to her sister, saying she was ‘the only one I ever had’.
Lilian had five children, but she primarily raised them as a single mother. She has 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A fundraising page for the Beacon Center for the Blind, a charity close to Doris’s heart that supported Ray for 20 years, has raised nearly £ 6,000 in memory of her.
