DNI John Ratcliffe Wiki-DNI John Ratcliffe Biography
National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe said on Monday that the information contained in Hunter Biden’s laptop revealed by The Post last week “is not part of a Russian disinformation campaign.”
During an appearance on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” Ratcliffe rejected allegations by Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, that emails showing former Vice President Joe Biden knew about the affairs of his son in Ukraine are a “Defamation” created by Moscow.
John Ratcliffe then blasted Schiff
“It’s funny that some of the people who complain the most that intelligence is politicized are the ones who politicize intelligence,” Ratcliffe said. “Unfortunately, it is Adam Schiff who said that the intelligence community believes that the Hunter Biden laptop and the emails it contains are part of a Russian disinformation campaign.”
The Post reported last Wednesday that an email showed that Hunter Biden introduced his father, who at the time was President Barack Obama’s vice president, to a top executive from Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company on whose board he was a member.
The meeting took place a year before Biden called for the removal of a top Ukrainian prosecutor.
Vadym Pozharskyi an adviser to the Burisma board
Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the Burisma board, thanked Hunter Biden for the “opportunity” to meet his father in an email sent on April 17, 2015.
The messages were found on the hard drive of a laptop that the son allegedly left at a Delaware computer store and never returned to pick up.
Ratcliffe said the computer is “in the jurisdiction of the FBI.”
“The FBI has got hold of this,” he said. “Without commenting on any investigation they may or may not have, their investigation does not focus on Russian disinformation and the intelligence community is playing no role in this.”
“leverage the intelligence community for a political narrative that’s not true
He also warned Schiff and others not to “tap into the intelligence community for a political narrative that is not true.”
“In this case, Adam Schiff says that this is part of a disinformation campaign and that the intelligence community has evaluated and believes that this is simply not true,” Ratcliffe said. “Whether they are Republicans or Democrats, if they try to tap into the intelligence community for political gain, I will not allow it.”
