Dexter Kruger Biography
Dexter Kruger was born on January 13, 1910 in Kilcoy, a city in southeast Queensland, and celebrated his birthday on Wednesday.
Due to Covid-19, his group was much smaller than in previous years at his nursing home in Rome, southwest Queensland.
Mr. Kruger is the ninth oldest man in the world and he said that ‘he wonders how much longer I will have to live to become number one, because they are dying pretty fast’.
When he turned 100, Kruger was asked to share his secrets to living a long, healthy and happy life.
“There is no secret … Keep breathing, eat three meals a day and time passes,” he told ABC.
The retired farmer said that he maintained some regular habits like singing and eating half a dozen prawns every day.
I think they are very good for you. And for my dinner I often have a can of sardines with my soup, ”he said.
When asked about what he does in his spare time at his very old age, Mr. Kruger joked, “Sometimes I sit and think, sometimes I just sit.”
Causes of death
Mr. Kruger wouldn’t be with us today if it wasn’t for his father’s quick thinking when he was bitten by a deadly black snake that struck his foot while working in a field in the bush.
“My father was next to me, he took the razor from him, took my foot, cut it off, put his mouth on it and sucked in all the poison,” recalled Mr. Kruger.
He said that he would have died in 10 minutes if it weren’t for his father.
After the death of his wife when he was 86, Mr. Kruger decided to write books and has since published 12 of them.
He also offered positive assurance to Australians that “we will get over this virus issue.”
‘In my industry, the livestock industry, we had several big problems that we overcome with vaccines. We have exterminated many things with vaccines, and that will happen with this, ‘he said.
